Northampton Barracudas vs. Shenandoah Sharks

There are plenty more pictures from Disney that I need to post, but I want to make sure to post pictures from Madison's swim meet today before too much time passes so I'm going to skip Disney tonight and add some swim.
Madison is doing great as part of her swim team. When it was time to sign her up, she had her doubts because she thought that she wouldn't be as good as the other kids. Well, she did great at her time trials last weekend- she placed 12 out of 48 during freestyle and 6 out of 47 for backstroke- not bad for her first race! As good as she did last weekend, she did even better today during her first meet. She did so good that she earned a spot (only 12 kids got a spot) on the girls 6 and under 100 yard freestyle relay. I was so proud of her!

last night Madison said that she was a little nervous to swim today, so I told her to not pay attention to the other swimmers around her, just focus on what she had to do and swim as fast as her little arms and legs would let her. If you know Madison than you know how much she LOVES sweets, so Jason told her to pretend that there was a cupcake waiting for her at the end and to swim as fast as she could for it- apparently that motivation worked because she came in 1st place against the other girls she was swimming against... and then she got her cupcake (and was nice enough to share with her friends)!

it was HOT outside today... we all wished we were Maddie & could swim!

Maddie's turn at the girls 6 and under 25 yard backstroke (she came in 1st again!)

Madison was very tired by the end of the day. We got to the meet at 7am so she could check in and start her warm ups at 7:15am. The meet officially began at 8:30 and there were 78 events (Maddie swam 3) and ended a little after 2:30pm. It was HOT outside so when we got home we all jumped in our pool and swam for a while- Madison is definitly our little mermaid!
